Service provider initiatives in IT services business (1)


Next, I would like to discuss initiatives in the IT Services Business.

The financial markets are experiencing many changes, including frequent revisions to laws and regulations. CSK Group has a customer base that includes many of the most respected names in commercial banking, trust banking, life and non-life insurance, credit card business and consumer finance, and we anticipate that demand for systems will remain relatively firm. We also see good prospects for winning several large system upgrade projects. The future is uncertain, however, and we do expect that some clients will cut their IT spending or put new projects on hold. Yet, while keeping that in mind, we aim to achieve a steady influx of orders by advancing our marketing activities on a strategic, groupwide basis under an enhanced sales progress management system.

Next, let me explain what we are doing to secure a position as a service provider.

In our May investor meeting, we discussed how we are working to enhance our IT competitiveness by (1) raising productivity through near-shore and off-shore remote development and (2) developing and reusing assets, or "platforms." We plan to increasingly utilize near-shore remote development, a strength of CSK, and offshore remote development, as we shift from orders to business partners.
