Let me say a little more about this comprehensive securities platform, particularly with regards to efforts to enhance the services we provide to securities companies, regional financial institutions and other clients. In August 2008, we made Cosmo Securities a wholly owned subsidiary, launched the CSK-IS Finance & Economics Research Center and strengthened CSK Securities Service. In October, we consolidated our educational functions at CSK Marketing. And in December, we plan to transfer securities BPO functions to CSK Securities Service and to merge Cosmo Securities and CSK-RB Securities.
The objective is to enhance the services we provide to securities companies, regional financial institutions and other clients by combining the strengths and expertise that Group companies had developed integrating the dispersed and overlapping functions of these companies, and turning functions that had served as cost centers into profit centers.
Regional banks' needs to establish securities subsidiaries have been increasing considerably. Although the recent market turbulence has led many banks to put such plans on hold, these needs remain, and we are constructing a business system to meet them. More specifically, we are working to enhance our service provision capabilities in preparation for a favorable turn in the business environment, whereupon we anticipate that CSK Group, backed by our comprehensive securities platform, will become a leading provider of such services.
We see this comprehensive securities platform as a prime example of the business models we aim to pursue as a service provider.
